My story

My name is Krisztine Grad and I’m the founder of the Art & Science of Burring. Let me first welcome you and thank you for your interest. I’ve been teaching on the large variety of burs and the high speed rotary files since 2014. I have traveled to many provinces over the last 7 years to teach at conferences and events. I have been practicing foot care for 16 years in Hamilton, ON. I’m originally from an eastern European country, Hungary.

Let me tell you how I got into burring. I’m going to try to make a long story short. I started doing footcare in 2005 and by 2011 I was ready to give up footcare. I was burned out doing a lot of work with the scalpel blade and I was using a Dremel that was heavy in my hand and was not the right tool for footcare. Then I switched over to a State-of-the-Art vacuum integrated-high speed rotary file (podiatry drill) and my entire practice changed overnight! I was able to work a lot faster due to the high speed combined with an excellent suction, and once I started incorporating a large variety of podiatry burs I was able to cut back on using the scalpel blade. Up until today I do minimal scalpel work, I can get the majority of my work done using several different burs at a time.

There are burs for everything! And this is what I teach in my courses. There are over 200 podiatry burs available. Back in 2011 when I first started using a larger variety of burs my bur obsession was pretty bad…I mean bad. I was using 95 different types of burs. I came a long way, I got it down to my favourite 15 and my favourite 5 that I use on an everyday basis.

I’m so passionate about the burs and the high speed rotary file because you can do absolutely anything with the large variety of burs and the transformations are incredible!

My goal is to share my passion and my knowledge with you- get you started -so you can begin to enjoy foot care to the fullest.

Join me on a burring adventure, it will change your practice!
